About Paul Sands

I am Senior Pastor of First Woodway Baptist Church — an extraordinary community of Christians in the Waco, Texas area. Before I returned to the pastorate, I was a professor of Christian theology at what is arguably the finest Baptist seminary in the world: The George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University. Whether in the classroom or pulpit, I have always tried to encourage others to face life with faith, courage, and hope. I speak often of grace because I am a foremost recipient of it — lavish, unchanging, overwhelming grace. Since 1980, I have been married to my best friend, Linda. We have three daughters, of whom we are ridiculously proud, two sons-in-law, who might as well be sons, and six grandchildren, who are perfect.
